Crime Prevention Tips
CUPD urges the following crime prevention tips for our community members to properly protect their belongings and themselves:
- Lock your room and/or dwelling at all times, even when you are home.
- Lock up your valuables even if you are just going to be gone a few minutes.
- Always have your keys or phone with your access, even when walking around your community (e.g. doing laundry.)
- When entering a secure area, don’t let anyone “tailgate” in behind you. Make them show their ID if you don’t know them.
- Keep all of your personal information secure (home address, Social Security number, access PINs).
- Don’t leave your desk or office keys, personal identification or building-access cards in unsecured areas.
- Never attempt to make contact with persons involved in suspicious activity.
- If you see something, say something and call CUPD at 864-656-2222 to report any suspicious activity.
