Duke Energy conducts annual maintenance siren tests to ensure sirens are working properly. The next scheduled campus test will be today, Wednesday, Aug. 17 and Aug. 24 at approximately 11:50 a.m.

Sirens will sound for approximately three minutes for each test.

This test is part of normal maintenance, and no public action is necessary.

In the event of an actual emergency, you should tune your radio or television to an emergency alerting station for instructions and information. These sirens could be used to alert you to emergencies at the nuclear station as well as any other type of emergency in the area.
